Half of the 7,825 chromium supplements in the NIH label database that print an amount list 100 mcg or less per serving; the middle half list 45 mcg to 200 mcg (DSLD version 9.4.0, January 2026). The 229 products whose only supplement ingredient is chromium list a median of 200 mcg.

How much chromium do supplements contain?

The median product lists 100 mcg per serving. One in ten lists 18 mcg or less, one in ten 240 mcg or more. The amount printed most often is 200 mcg (1,376 products).

How do the amounts compare with the Daily Value and the upper limit?

The FDA Daily Value for chromium is 35 mcg (adults and children 4 and older). The median product gives 286% of it per serving; the 90th percentile 686%.

Which forms of chromium do labels name?
