Terms of use

By using PlainVitamins you accept these terms. They are short because the site is simple: public supplement label data, read plainly, paid for by ads.

Who runs the site

The site belongs to Kiznis Studio, which publishes it under the PlainVitamins name. Reach us at hello@plainvitamins.com.

What the site is, and what it is not

PlainVitamins republishes the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database and computes comparisons from it. Every amount shown is the label's, in NIH's transcription; for what a bottle holds now, read the bottle. Nothing here is medical advice, and comparisons with the Daily Value or the upper intake level describe labels, not what anyone should take. PlainVitamins is not affiliated with the NIH, the FDA or any manufacturer, brand or retailer named on it, and it does not rate products.

Reusing the data

The NIH data is a public US government record. Our own tables (the analyses and their CSV files, the distributions and comparisons) are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence: reuse them freely, with a credit to PlainVitamins and a link to the page they came from. Scripts and crawlers may read the pages if they keep to robots.txt and an unhurried pace; probing or bypassing the site's protections is not allowed.

Advertising

Journey by Mediavine places the ads on PlainVitamins. No advertiser has a say in which products, brands or figures appear, and every ad is labelled as one.

Liability

PlainVitamins comes with no warranty. The figures are computed from the NIH file and checked as the methodology describes, yet a choice made on them is the reader's, and as far as the law permits we accept no liability for it. These terms take away none of the consumer rights your own country's law grants you.

Corrections and changes

Report an error to hello@plainvitamins.com (how corrections work). Changes to these terms are dated above and recorded in the changelog.
