A dated record of real changes to the DSLD-sourced data and deduplication process behind PlainVitamins' supplement and ingredient pages. This list only carries changes we can point to in our own build history. See the editorial policy & corrections process for how a specific figure gets corrected.

Brand name deduplication
Merged product brand names that differed only by letter case or punctuation into a single canonical brand, with 301 redirects from the former slugs. No products were dropped in the merge.

Release-history tracking added
Began retaining source-observed DSLD data snapshots (product and ingredient counts per release) so future comparisons against prior releases are honest and traceable.

Ingredient aggregate integrity fix
Repaired ingredient-page aggregates, rankings, and category counts that had been inflated by product rows excluded from the canonical product population.

Duplicate product listings flagged
DSLD periodically re-submits the same product across multiple label revisions, producing near-duplicate entries under the same name and brand. Flagged the non-canonical duplicates (38% of the catalog at the time) as noindex while keeping them served, so search engines see one canonical page per product.

Initial data build completed
The first full ETL run populated the portal database from the FDA/NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD).
